Spread DA Word Saturday

1. Consumption

Water: Had some water for coffee in the hotel. Took a shower, brush teeth and two flushes. Some from a water fountain at drexel

Food: Didn’t eat breakfast. Had lunch at e the college’s cafeteria, barbecue chicken, macaroni, green beans, pizza, fries and a meatball sandwich. After for dinner I had some shrimp scampi and a soda.

Gas: Had to drive like 30 minutes to the dog show, another 45 to the Drexel. THen drove back to the show and back to the hotel. Drove around a mall for a little bit.

Electricity: Used my ipod and phone and a little tv at the hotel. Didn’t have a computer, sooooooo

2. Reduction

Well on this trip, I wasnt given many places to reduce. I walked quite a bit, and tried to take a short shower. I reduced because I didn’t have a computer to use. We bought food at the grocery store, and brought it back to the hotel instead of always eating out, this was good.

Although I didn’t get to reduce much, the college I went to had a lot of techniques for reducing such as a type of floor that filter fallen rainwater and collected it. They also had a 5 story wall, which was 5 stories of plants that grew straight up and without soil… i gotta picture

3. Sustainability

I didn’t have a time not watching tv very much or being able to use the computer, so I feel I can keep that up. I like walking so thats not a problem. Even traveling I cut down my electricity

4. Peers

Without a computer  I didn’t learn much from my peers, but at Drexel is one of the most eco-friendly universities so there was stuff to see there.

Freakky friday

  1. Consumption Water: I used water for coffee and had like a bottle in the car. Used it for shower bathroom etc.

Food: I ate a crissont for breakfast. Then had popeyes chicken for lunch, and a chimmichanga for dinner.

Electricity: I used my ipod and phone a good amount today. But other than the car had no lights on all day. Now at this hotel I have one on.

gas: I used alot today, drove all the way from boston to philly

Money: none

2: Reduction

Today wasn’t very easy to reduce, being stuck in the car I didn’t have much to do except read, listen to music, use my phone and sleep. At least I didn’t use much electricity.

  1. Sustainability

today was not at all a sustainable day. I didn’t have very many choices of what to do, and used way too much gas

  1. Peer …

I didn’t read much stuff really, cause its annoying on my phone. From the stuff I did read, It seems people are really trying to cut down on their water usage and take shorter showers. I think this is a good idea, cause if everybodyy smells like crap, does anybody smell bad?

Thirsty Thursday

1.  Consumption - What did you consume today?

Please make a list for your usage of the following substances

Water: Used some water for coffee, 7 minute shower,  brush teeth.  Had some powder ice tea
Food: No breakfast. The usual for lunch.  After schoool I had sun chips and nachos. Then I had Steak, corn and baked potato for dinner
Electricity: Lights when necessary, barely checked my phone, listened to music. I’ve been on the computer for a while typing some stuff. No television
Gasoline: Got a ride to school, took the T home
Money: Even though I was really thirsty I used some restraint and spent no money yet.
2. Reduction - In what areas of your current lifestyle did you try to scale back the use of specific resources?
I tried not to be too thirsty + what i say everyday about not  using too much electricity and phone. I also didn’t spend any money today
3.  Sustainability - Are there any changes that you made to your daily routine that you could envision making for the long term?  Can you reduce your consumption permanently?  Why or why not? Please be specific, and provide examples.
I like that I am using facebook left, gives me more time to nap, and I’m less distracted when doing hw. Not using facebook as much, makes me think its kinda creepy. I haven’t really been watching any tv ether….. mostly been books and naps. Also spending less money is coooooo
4.  Following - What did you learn from following the tumblr feed of your peers?  Did one person’s actions resonate with you in a positive way?  Will you adjust your own actions because of this?
I kinda like that people are posting interesting stories and picture, its kind of intriguing. Most people are pretty boring (sorry guys) and I don’t want to read it that much, but if I stumble across a good picture it makes me read it

WATERLESS WEDNESDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. Consumption - What did you consume today?

Water: I used  almost no water today, except to shower and brush my teeth.  I didn’t use any this morning for coffee, and didn’t drink any. I wasn’t going to drinking any all day until I caved during lunch.

FOOD: I didn’t have any breakfast. Had the usual lunch, buff chick sub, oreoes chips and lemonade. When I got home I had pasta and pizza. For dinner I had pasta

Electricity: Didn’t use my computer till now. I’ve had my ipod on for a while and I didn’t use my phone to much

Gas: I got a ride to school. Then I took the bus home

Money: None!!!!!!!!!!!!

2. Reduction - In what areas of your current lifestyle did you try to scale back the use of specific resources?

Today I reduced my water usage. I only used it to take a shower and brush my teeth, didnt even flush ;)…… I only had a few sips of water all day. Still cutting down on my phone usage too’

3. Sustainability - Are there any changes that you made to your daily routine that you could envision making for the long term? Can you reduce your consumption permanently? Why or why not? Please be specific, and provide examples.

I cannot stop drinking water, sorry. But for like the third time Ill talk about cutting down on electricity. I also think I can spend less money

4. Peers - What did you learn from following the tumblr feed of your peers? Did one person’s actions resonate with you in a positive way? Will you adjust your own actions as a result of their post?

I feel like everybody is cutting down on water, which is good. Also I everybody is talking about their camel backs and half camel backs… maybe Ill get one too

1.  Consumption - What did you consume today?

Water: I used water to make coffee in the morning. Made some of that powder ice tea, which needs water.

Food: I didn’t have any breakfast. At lunch I had buffalo chicken sub, lemonade and chips. Gonna try and catch dinner soon

Electricity: Used my computer this morning for school work and music. Didn’t use my at all today.

Gasoline: got a ride to  school today, then I got a ride home

money: I wasn’t going to spend any money today, but watching the powder puff game I got hungry and bought chips

2. Reduction - In what areas of your current lifestyle did you try to scale back the use of specific resources?

I tried to  not spend any of my money today, almost successsful. Today I was really able to cut down on my cell phone usage, partially due to the fact it got taken away during the day. Then I got it back at 3:15 with a side of detention…. doing a lil more hunting too.

3.  Sustainability - Are there any changes that you made to your daily routine that you could envision making for the long term?  Can you reduce your consumption permanently?  Why or why not? Please be specific, and provide examples

I think I can spend less money permanently, because all the things I spend it on are kind of unesscessary. I’ve also been doing a fairly good job cutting down my phone usage and remembering to keep lights off when they’re not needed.

4.  Following - What did you learn from following the tumblr feed of your peers?  Did one person’s actions resonate with you in a positive way?  Will you adjust your own actions because of this?

From looking at the tumblrs of my peers,  I see that a lot of people are posting about cutting down on facebook. I think cutting down on social media is a good idea, because a good amount of time I’m trying to do hw at the same time.

Millionaire Monday!

1.  Consumption - What did you consume today?

Water- I took two really short showers today. I had coffee made at my house.

Food: I didn’t have any breakfast. Had a normal lunch, Buff chick sub, chips, lemonade. After school I had another Buff chick sub but this one wasn’t home made, then I had an apple & peanut butter and a soda.

Electricity: I used electricity to charge my phone this morning, and now I have some lights on and the computer. I didnt use my phone to much during the day.

Gasoline: I got a ride to school, then took the comuter rail home. Then I got picked up and went to dedham, then english high then home.

Money: I spent like 3 dollars today, but I got a free sub so thats like -$6.00.

2. Reduction - In what areas of your current lifestyle did you try to scale back the use of specific resources?

Today I didn’t use to much electricity again, only for the necessitates, I count my phone and music a necessity. I took more showers today, but I think they were as long as yesterday. I don’t plan to take that many showers everyday.

3.  Sustainability - Are there any changes that you made to your daily routine that you could envision making for the long term?  Can you reduce your consumption permanently?  Why or why not? Please be specific, and provide examples.

I got some free food, I could definitely make that part of my daily routine. I reduced my electricity usage again today. I feel I can sustain this, because the past two days havent been to hard. I tried to keep the lights off as much as possible. I don’t feel like I would cut down on the gasoline, because usually I just go for a ride, instead of going some where because I need to.
4.  What did you learn from following the tumblr feed of your peers?  Did one person’s actions resonate with you in a positive way?  Will you adjust your own actions as a result of their post
I learned that most people are taking this more seriously than I thought the would, I think some people didnt eat.  I like the videos there better than writing… maybe ill make one
